Before You Call

Try These Quick Troubleshooting Checks

As an honest local business, we want to save you money. Before booking an in-home repair visit, we highly recommend verifying these four common non-hardware issues. They might fix your TV immediately!

Important note: If your TV smells like smoke, exhibits physical screen damage, or repeatedly clicks while trying to power on, do not attempt troubleshooting. Unplug it and contact us immediately.

1

Verify the Power Outlet

Unplug the TV and plug a different device (like a lamp or a phone charger) into the exact same wall socket. This verifies if the issue is a tripped breaker or a dead outlet.

2

Perform a Hard Power Reset

Unplug the TV power cable from the wall. Press and hold the physical power button on the TV bezel (not the remote) for 15 seconds. Wait 60 seconds, plug it back in, and power on.

3

Check Input HDMI Connections

Disconnect and firmly reconnect all HDMI cables at both ends (TV and cable box/console). A loose cable or a frozen external receiver box is the main cause of "No Signal" black screens.

4

Cycle Screen Sources

If your TV turns on and plays sound but showing a black screen, toggle to another source (e.g. built-in Smart TV apps) using your remote to isolate if the issue is a failed external input box.

Professional Standard

Component-Level TV Repair Craftsmanship

Modern televisions (Smart TVs, LEDs, QLEDs, Plasmas, and CRTs) are highly complex pieces of electrical engineering. However, the majority of screen failures are caused by small, replaceable components: blown power capacitors, burnt-out LED backlight strips, cold solder joints, or failed relays.

Allied TV Repair brings extensive technical field experience directly to your home or workshop. We arrive with specialized tools (digital scopes, multi-testers, solders, and diagnostic panels) to diagnose, open, and perform card-level fixes on your TV immediately.

What Your Neighbors Are Saying

We maintain a 5-star rating on Google My Business. Read authentic feedback from local clients.

"The Allied TV technician came to my home in Ancaster the day after I called. My 65-inch Samsung TV had a black screen but could hear sound. He opened the panel and found the bad backlight strip, replaced it, and had the TV working like new in less than an hour. Very honest technician!"

Robert K.Ancaster, Hamilton

"Outstanding service in Burlington. My TV clicked repeatedly when trying to power it on. The technician diagnosed a faulty power supply component, gave a very fair repair price on the spot, and finished the fix immediately. Saved me hundreds compared to buying a new TV."

Megan T.Burlington

"I had an old CRT monitor for my vintage gaming consoles that suffered from display geometry distortion. Allied TV was the only local expert who knew how to service it. He adjusted the convergence and components inside safely. Highly recommended expert."

Dave S.Hamilton Mountain

"Super professional and polite. Our LG smart TV was stuck in a boot loop showing only the logo screen. The Allied TV technician diagnosed the firmware issue on the main board, resoldered the memory IC chip, and it was back to normal. Unbelievable in-home service!"

Arthur H.Stoney Creek

"Fantastic house call service in Brantford. Booking was extremely simple. The technician arrived right on time within the 2-hour window and resolved our power board issue. It’s wonderful to find a service that still does home dispatches."

Sarah P.Brantford

"Quick diagnostic and repair of our Sony Bravia 75-inch TV. The HDMI ports had cracked off the logic board. The technician resoldered them right in our living room on his antistatic protective sheet. Amazing setup and very tidy work!"
